Linett Kamala is on a mission to amplify wellness through her offerings which include: DJ, Artist, Academic, Community Organiser, Creative Producer & Founding Director of LIN KAM ART.
She is known as the Notting Hill Carnival ‘Sound System Queen’, being credited as one of the first female DJs to perform on a sound system in the mid 1980s at the event age 15 and is now one of the organisers, serving as Board Director. She founded and puts on the South Kilburn CarniVale, a free community wellness festival in her local neighbourhood in NW London.
2025 marks Linett’s 40th year in sound system culture and she continues to DJ and champion sound system, from producing memorable sound system takeovers at The British Museum and The British Library, putting on an Earth Night event at University of the Arts London Central Saint Martin’s, to advocating for underrepresented groups, including her two initiatives; LIN KAM ART Sound System Futures which develops the next generation and Original Sounds Collective – amplifying the presence of women in sound system and globally moving the culture forward.
Linett’s custom hand-built sound system LIN KAM ART that she designed, is a beautiful fusion of innovation, art, natural materials and powerful sonic technology. AMPLIFY is a new experiment where she explores sound system experience as a tool for wellness. Her touring sound system and light installation BASS TONE REGENERATION explores aspects of our relationship to each other and the natural environment. It has been invited to places such as The Royal Albert Hall and the announcement launch of the London Museum.
Linett is also President of the University of the Arts London Alumni of Colour Association, Associate Lecturer in Performance: MA & BA Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London and in BA (Hons) Live Event & Festival Management at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.
Keecia Ellis is the founder of Rekodi Music, a publishing and creative company built for the creators to collect, protect, and respect the art.
Drawing on more than a decade of experience at both major and independent music companies such as Universal Music, and Sony, she brings a deep understanding of the creative and business sides of the industry. Her work as an International Music Publisher, Creative, included developing catalogues for some of the most influential artists, writers, and producers in contemporary Caribbean music.
Through Rekodi Music, Keecia is creating spaces where artists can connect, collaborate, and gain the knowledge needed to protect their work. Her leadership has positioned Rekodi as a voice in music publishing, championing creators and building meaningful partnerships that open doors for the next generation.
A qualified mediator specialising in intellectual property, Keecia is passionate about ensuring creators can protect what they build. As the daughter of reggae legend Alton Ellis OD, she continues to honour his legacy while championing a new generation of musicians shaping the future of Black and Caribbean music.
