It’s a real pleasure to introduce you to Kesi Steven. This multihyphenate, is blasting her way through filmmaking, screenwriting and running a business. An enterepreneur at heart, Kesi told us about her passions for film, writing and of course…food!
At my core, I’m a storyteller. Whether it’s through film, food, or creative strategy, everything I do comes back to connection, culture, and creativity.
Kesi is the founder of Bakes n Tings, a Caribbean catering service as well as a creative consultant, screenwriter, and published author of ‘A Guide To Life- African Proverbs Made Relevant Today’.
As a filmmaker, I tell stories rooted in healing, identity, culture and spirituality, blending poetry, realism, and cultural celebration. As a caterer, I bring that same energy to the kitchen, using food to honour heritage, spark joy, and bring people together.
I started Bakes n Tings as a way to feed both people and my creativity, it’s how I fund my creative projects, support my ideas, network and build a work-life balance that actually feels good.
For me, the kitchen and the camera are just two sides of the same storytelling coin.
When I’m not writing or dishing up food, I’m running The Creative Calling, my consultancy helping other creatives unlock their voice, tell their story, and build a life that feels as soulful as their art.
