Who We Are

As we prepare for our upcoming festival, we’re seeking to build our Jury panel.

Since 2017, Women Of The Lens Film Festival has been championing underrepresented women in the film industries through programming films which supports career growth and connects audiences with films they wouldn’t ordinarily see.

We pride ourselves on selecting stories from productions that care about the professional development of its team and at the same time, want to strive to push boundaries in the film industry.

Even though the film industry is going through a challenging time, it’s an exciting time, both on our level and for the industry as a whole. What’s happening is impactful change as the usual gatekeepers lose their hold on stifling creativity and the usual pathways to get stories heard make way for new. We want to be part of what will be influential change.

Who You Are

You’ll be involved in the selection process for our programme of films that come from burgeoning and established filmmaking talent. We get submissions from the UK, but a good percentage are submissions from across the world.

Whilst we’re not looking for formal qualifications, you should have a strong eye for a well-told story. You should understand film language, such as lighting, colour, sound, general cinematography. You should have knowledge of the film industry. It especially helps if you’ve worked/or are working in the film and/or television industry at any level or sector.

You must adhere to the missioin, values and principles of Women Of The Lens Film Festival.

We welcome students.
