This collaboration will showcase compelling stories and inspiring talent from Black women filmmakers.

Women Of The Lens Film Festival is a premier festival platform dedicated to the talents and career growth of Black women in the film industries. Since its inception in 2017, the festival has screened over 200 productions that highlight engaging narratives with high production values. The festival’s motto, “empowering through knowledge and celebration” underscores its mission to share diverse and universal experiences through the lens of Black women filmmakers. Founded by Jennifer G. Robinson, who brings over 20 years of experience in the creative industries, WOTL is a trailblazing platform in promoting filmmaking excellence.

The African Movie Channel, a leader in African movie programming and television, operates three 24-hour linear channels: African Movie Channel (AMC), African Movie Channel Series (AMC Series), and Nolly Africa. These channels are available on various TV platforms across Africa and beyond, offering audiences access to top-quality Nollywood and African productions. Established in 2006 by founding Executive Director Yinka Mayungbo, AMC was Europe’s first channel dedicated to African movies and has since become a pioneer in the global entertainment landscape.

This dynamic partnership aims to bridge audiences and creators, spotlighting the rich tapestry of Black women’s stories while celebrating the artistry and talent within the industry.

Jennifer G. Robinson, Founder and Director of WOTL, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “…I’m looking forward to the media partnership with AMC, where we can showcase the best in the film industries. This collaboration provides an incredible opportunity to shine a light on narratives that deserve global recognition…”
